A building roof and wall collapsed near a construction site on Wattle Street in the Ultimo suburb of Sydney at around 11 a.m. on August 3, 2026, injuring two men seriously and causing debris to fall on nearby cars and a petrol station [1, 2, 3].
The collapse happened about 2 kilometers from Sydney's central business district. Emergency services assessed seven people at the scene; two men aged about 30 and 60 were seriously injured and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment. Peter Murray, acting superintendent of Fire and Rescue NSW, said, "A portion of that building has collapsed, and some of the debris has come down and fallen on some cars parked within the service station area" [1]. An unnamed witness described the incident: "我不知道究竟發生什麼事…聲音非常大，很不尋常。我當時很震驚，也很意外…但我很好，我很幸運" [2].
