Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) launched an enhanced version of its Maybank2E (M2E) platform, a regional business banking solution targeting SMEs and larger corporations across Malaysia, the bank announced on June 8, 2026 [1, 2].
The new M2E platform is digital-first and accessible via web and mobile app, providing a unified end-to-end ecosystem that includes cash management, trade finance, and foreign-exchange solutions through a single login [1, 2]. Unlike the previous version, which mainly focused on cash management with other services offered separately, the enhanced platform consolidates multiple banking solutions into a single activation dashboard [1, 2].
SME users can onboard and open accounts entirely online within minutes without submitting physical documents [1, 2]. Additionally, users can lock foreign exchange rates instantly for over 20 currencies and customize dashboards to monitor finances across markets in a single view [1, 2].
Datuk John Chong, Maybank group CEO of global banking, said, "Leveraging our strong franchise in financing, we are accelerating our ROAR30 strategy to become Asean’s leading transactions and payments bank" [1]. Maybank's RM10 billion ROAR30 strategy drives this platform upgrade as part of its goal to expand payment and transaction banking services across Southeast Asia [1].
The bank plans to roll out the enhanced M2E platform in Singapore and Indonesia later in 2026 [1, 2]. This regional expansion aims to offer the same streamlined, integrated business banking experience beyond Malaysia.
Maybank also noted that the enhanced platform enables more enterprises, especially small and medium-sized businesses, to respond quickly to opportunities and risks across borders and around the clock, helping realize its ASEAN leadership ambitions [2].
