The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will table its findings on Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), including its privatisation and operational issues at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), during the Dewan Rakyat sitting beginning June 22, 2026 [1, 2].

The PAC inquiry included 19 proceedings and a site visit to KLIA Terminal 1 on June 11, 2026, as part of its fact-finding process [1, 2]. Committee chair Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said, "This working visit has helped us prepare a report that is more transparent, comprehensive and thorough" [2].

The investigation focuses on management of public airports overseen by the Finance Ministry, Transport Ministry, and MAHB, with particular attention on operational performance at KLIA. It also covers delays in critical infrastructure projects such as the aerotrain service and baggage handling system upgrades [1, 2]. The committee emphasized the impact of recent service disruptions at KLIA, noting they have damaged Malaysia's reputation among tourists and foreign investors. Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin stated, "The PAC views seriously the series of service disruptions that have occurred recently, which have affected service delivery and tarnished the country's image in the eyes of tourists and foreign investors" [1].

MAHB was privatised in February 2025 in a RM12.3 billion deal at RM11 per share, significantly above its book value of RM4.89 per share. The consortium purchasing MAHB includes Khazanah Nasional via UEM Group, Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP). Post-privatisation shareholdings are Khazanah 40%, EPF 30%, GIP 25%, and ADIA 5%, with the government retaining a special share [1].

The aerotrain service at KLIA, launched with a breakdown on July 2, 2025, has since improved. Since June 1, 2026, it has operated 24 hours daily. Datuk Mas Ermieyati congratulated the teams involved, saying, "Improvements have since been made and we were informed that the Aerotrain is now operating 24 hours a day. This is a positive development and I would like to congratulate the relevant parties for their efforts" [2].

The PAC’s report will provide detailed findings and recommendations during the parliamentary sitting starting June 22, 2026 [1, 2].
