Tan Sri Dr Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz was appointed chairman of Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) effective August 13, 2026 [1, 2, 3]. He succeeds Datuk Seri Sharifuddin, who held the position since November 2025 [3].
Wan Ahmad Dahlan has over 30 years of public service experience dating back to 1995 [1, 2, 3]. He currently serves as Public Service Director-General, a role he has held since January 2024 [1, 2, 3]. His career includes senior positions such as Director-General of the Implementation Coordination Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Comptroller of the Royal Household at Istana Negara [1, 2, 3].
Beyond MRT Corp, Wan Ahmad Dahlan chairs the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia and the Razak School of Government. He holds board appointments with Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd, the Employees Provident Fund, and the Inland Revenue Board [1, 2, 3].
MRT Corp CEO Datuk Mohd Zarif Hashim praised Wan Ahmad Dahlan’s extensive expertise in public administration, governance, and policy execution. “His experience will be invaluable as MRT Corp delivers major national infrastructure projects and strengthens its role in advancing Malaysia’s mobility and urban development agenda,” Zarif said [1]. Wan Ahmad Dahlan assumes leadership at MRT Corp as the company advances key infrastructure developments, including the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link and the Penang LRT Mutiara Line [1, 2, 3]. These projects remain a focus for the corporation under his chairmanship.
