His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, donated 148 cattle for the Aidiladha sacrificial ritual in Johor. The donation is intended to be distributed among mosques, surau, villages, and various organisations across the state as part of the Qurban or Korban Perdana programme [1, 2].
Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi praised the Sultan's donation, saying it "reflects the compassion and care of the Johor Royal Institution, which remains close to the hearts of the people of Johor." He added, "Myself and the people of Johor extend our deepest appreciation and pray that His Majesty and his family are blessed with good health, wellbeing, and continued grace and protection from Allah [1]." He reiterated the blessing, wishing the Royal Family to "always be blessed with good health, well-being and remain under the protection and mercy of Allah SWT" [2].
By late May, 32 cattle had been distributed specifically in the Simpang Renggam area, reaching local mosques, surau, villages, and community groups to share the sacrificial meat [1, 2].
On the same day, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim donated a sacrificial cow for media practitioners in Pahang. This marked the first time a donation was made expressly for media workers. The Pahang Press organised the qurban programme at Kampung Anak Air with help from about 40 members of the Tok Peramu Qurban Squad [3].
Pahang Press chairman Fazli Ahmad said the donation "carries special meaning as it reflects recognition of our role in delivering information and serving as a bridge between the government and the people." The sacrificial meat was distributed to journalists, photographers, and local residents [3].
The Aidiladha qurban programmes in Johor and Pahang reflect coordinated efforts involving royal institutions, state leaders, and community organisations. The meat distributions continue in the affected areas as part of the Eid al-Adha celebrations.
The Sultan’s donation was publicly acknowledged by Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi on May 28, the same day the Prime Minister’s contribution to Pahang media workers took place [2, 3].
