A crocodile about three metres long was found trapped in a roadside drain near a petrol station in Sungai Manggis, Banting on June 14 [1, 2, 3]. Firefighters received an emergency call at 9:07 a.m. and arrived five minutes later to confirm the crocodile's presence [1, 2, 3].

Eight firefighters from the Banting Fire and Rescue Department worked for approximately one hour to capture the animal, which weighed more than 200 kilograms [1, 2, 3]. Operations commander Mohd Fazrie Faridzuan Pauzilah said, "The crocodile was aggressive, rolling and thrashing about during the capture process, making the operation more difficult. It took about an hour before the animal could be safely restrained" [2].

No injuries were reported during the rescue operation [1, 3]. After capture, the crocodile was handed over to the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) for safekeeping [2]. Authorities believe the crocodile likely came from the nearby Sungai Langat river system [2].

The rescue team completed the operation without incident despite the crocodile's aggressive behavior and large size. The efficient response and safe capture highlight the preparedness of Banting's emergency services.

Officials will keep monitoring the area to prevent similar incidents and ensure public safety near the river system habitats.
