Amanah announced it will contest 19 seats in the upcoming Johor state election, including Parit Yaani, Kota Iskandar, Simpang Jeram, Permas, Kemelah, Tenang, Serom, Maharani, and Bukit Pasir [1, 2]. The party’s chairman Aminolhuda Hassan, who previously won Parit Yaani in 2013 under PAS and again in 2018 representing Pakatan Harapan-Amanah, expressed confidence about their challenge despite some seats being Barisan Nasional (BN) strongholds [1, 2]. "Amanah will also field candidates in Permas, Kemelah, Tenang, Serom, Maharani and Bukit Pasir," Aminolhuda said [2].
In the 2022 Johor state election, Simpang Jeram was the only seat Amanah won, highlighting the party’s intent to expand its presence this time around [1, 2]. In contrast, the Puteri Wangsa and Larkin seats were not yet allocated between Pakatan Harapan (PH) component parties. Aminolhuda noted, "No final decision had been reached on the allocation of the two seats Puteri Wangsa and Larkin" [2]. Puteri Wangsa was won by MUDA’s Puteri Amira Aisya Abd Aziz in 2022 with a majority of 7,114 votes, while Larkin was secured by BN’s Mohd Hairi Mad Shah with a 6,178-vote majority [1, 2].
Besides Amanah’s 19 seats, DAP will contest 17 seats and PKR will contest 20 in the Johor election, with PKR taking Endau, Pulai Sebatang, and Senggarang[state seats] [1, 2].
Amanah’s strategy focuses on reclaiming suburban constituencies and strengthening its foothold entrenched since Aminolhuda Hassan's earlier representation in Parit Yaani [1, 2]. The party is determined to present a strong challenge despite the dominance of BN in several constituencies.
Amanah’s announcement came on June 15, 2026, signaling an active campaign phase ahead of the upcoming state election [1, 2].
