A foreign female student in her 20s was found dead with several injuries at a condominium in Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, on June 23, 2026. Police received information about the incident at about 11:03 a.m. and discovered her body shortly after [1, 2, 3, 4].
The victim was enrolled at a private higher education institution in Petaling Jaya. Petaling Jaya deputy police chief Superintendent M. Hussin Sollehuddin Zolkifly said, "Initial checks found several injuries on the victim's body. She was a student at a private higher education institution here" [1, 2, 3, 4].
A foreign man in his 20s, also a student at the same institution, was arrested at the condominium premises to assist in investigations. Police obtained a seven-day remand order for him starting June 24 until June 30, 2026 [1, 2, 3, 5, 4, 6, 7].
Preliminary investigations indicate the victim and suspect were in a romantic relationship and had been living together. Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said, "At this early stage of investigation, police believe the motive is related to personal issues involving emotions and financial spending" [8, 9, 10, 5, 4]. He also added, "So far, we believe he is the main suspect involved, and there are no indications of other suspects" [9].
