A 59-year-old driver of a Perodua Kembara allegedly drove recklessly and caused a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the Federal Highway near Shah Alam towards Kuala Lumpur on June 20 at about 6:10pm. The driver fled the scene, leaving his vehicle behind, police said [1, 2, 3, 4].
"Upon reaching the location, the driver is believed to have driven dangerously before colliding with a car and a motorcycle. After the crash, the driver fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind," Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat said [3].
The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was taken to Sunway Hospital for treatment, police confirmed [1, 2, 3, 4]. The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving [1, 2, 3, 4].
The incident went viral on social media before police launched their investigation around June 28 or 29 after detecting video footage of the crash [3].
