A 21-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint by four unidentified men inside a condominium unit in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, police said [1, 2, 3]. The victim reported the robbery to police at 9:02 p.m. on July 31 [1, 3].
In a raid at around 3 a.m. on August 1, authorities arrested seven people at a parking area in Jalan Metro Pudu. Those detained include five men aged 22 to 38 and two teenage girls aged 13 and 19 [1, 2, 3]. Wangsa Maju police chief Assistant Commissioner Annas Sulaiman confirmed the suspects were remanded that day and are being held at the Jinjang police lock-up pending investigation [1, 3].
Police seized an iPhone 17 Pro believed to have been stolen during the robbery [1, 3]. The investigation falls under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code, covering armed gang robbery and gang robbery with use of a weapon, said ACP Annas Sulaiman [1, 2, 3]. The officer noted, "All those detained have been remanded to assist in the investigation under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for committing armed gang robbery." [2]
The suspects remain in custody as police continue to gather evidence related to the case. Authorities have not released further details about the four men who committed the initial robbery inside the condominium unit.
Law enforcement officials plan to update the status of the investigation as they pursue prosecution.
