Carrie Wong, 32, plays flight attendant Janice in the new Asian suspense drama Kidnap Game, which follows seven kidnapping cases occurring simultaneously across seven Asian cities [1, 2]. Lee Joon-gi, 44, stars as surgeon Han Ki-joo alongside her [1, 2].
The drama features a multinational ensemble cast including Japan’s Kentaro Sakaguchi as detective Toshiro Niide, Taiwanese actress Alice Ko as influencer Christina, Hong Kong boy band Mirror member Stanley Yau as lawyer Andy, Filipino actor Joel Torre as taxi driver Miguel, and Thai actress Praew Narupornkamol Chaisang as nightclub hostess Ayun [1, 2].
Carrie Wong said she was notified of landing the role at 3 a.m. London time and could not sleep out of excitement. She added, "I had the most number of scenes with him [Lee Joon-gi]. He is a fantastic, thoughtful and very professional actor. The collaboration went smoothly, and he was very friendly and curious off-screen" [1].
Before filming, Wong took acting lessons from Golden Horse award-winning actress Yeo Yann Yann to prepare. She said, "Thankfully, with [Yeo Yann Yann's] help in my preparation, I felt more confident when we started shooting" [1].
Filming took place across multiple Asian cities including Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Manila, and Okinawa [2]. Scenes shot in Singapore in November 2025 included locations near Joo Chiat, along the Singapore River, and Merlion Park [1, 2].
Kidnap Game is co-produced by Hong Kong’s MakerVille (PCCW Media), Korean company SimStory, and Japan’s Fuji Television [2]. The series is planned to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2026 on Hong Kong’s ViuTV channel and stream on Viu in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa [1, 2].
