Mandai Wildlife Reserve officially opened the Rainforest Wild Adventure East zone on May 29, 2026, expanding its rainforest-themed park to include African biodiversity and landscapes [1, 2]. The East zone covers 7 hectares and is part of the overall 20-hectare Rainforest Wild Adventure park, one of the largest areas within the 126-hectare Mandai Reserve, which is roughly equivalent to 176 football fields in size [1, 2].
The new zone's design draws on Afro-tropical and Madagascan landscapes, aiming to provide visitors with an immersive rainforest experience from Central Africa [1, 2]. Mandai Wildlife Group’s curator Cecilia Tang said, "We want to bring a slice of that rainforest experience for our guests here and showcase different aspects of the rainforest (in Africa)." The East zone features four endangered okapis as its star animals, alongside African species such as pygmy hippos, eastern bongos, and Nile lechwes, complemented by native flora like the iconic baobab tree [1, 2].
Visitors can participate in five adventure activities, including gliding through the canopy and soaring 8 meters above ground, adding an active dimension to the wildlife experience [1, 2]. Rainforest Wild Adventure is divided into East (Africa) and West (South-east Asia) zones. The West zone, which opened in March 2025, showcases South-east Asian biodiversity and landscapes [1, 2].
A single ticket grants access to both zones, shuttle services, and selected adventure activities. Admission costs SGD 50 for local adults, SGD 35 for children aged 3-12 and local students up to 25 years, and SGD 25 for seniors 60 and above. Non-resident adults pay SGD 55, while non-resident children pay SGD 39 [1, 2].
The Rainforest Wild Adventure park joins Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, and Bird Paradise within the Mandai complex, offering a wide range of wildlife and nature experiences [1, 2]. The park operates daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with last admission at 5 p.m [1, 2].
