The National Day Parade (NDP) 2026 will showcase three original songs by local artists, each representing a distinct musical genre. The songs include an uplifting track about finding one’s voice, an electronic pop song themed on resilience, and a fusion disco funk anthem celebrating joy [1, 2].

The parade returns to the National Stadium after a 10-year absence, with the venue accommodating about 42,000 people—nearly double the Padang’s capacity [1, 2]. However, crowd favorites such as the mobile column, the Red Lions free-fall team, and the aerial display will not be included this year [1, 2].

Bang Wenfu, NDP’s music director, explained that the concert-style atmosphere of the stadium influenced the choice to feature multiple songs catering to varied tastes and genres. He said, “Singapore is not monolithic, we are a multicultural society. So there is diversity in preferences, views, and messaging. We feel that multiple songs cater to different ideas, viewpoints, tastes among the different brackets of society” [1].

Bang also emphasized inclusivity, noting, “Covering different genres is very important as it is a show for every Singaporean, we wouldn’t want to make even one small fraction of a population feel like they’re being left out” [1].

The artists involved include Jasmine Sokko, Gareth Fernandez, Dru Chen, and weish, who previously performed in NDP 2024 [1, 2]. Jasmine Sokko, who composed and sang the EDM track “You’ll Be Okay,” said, “We’ve always been diverse. There isn’t just one Singaporean experience. Everyone comes from a different place, each carrying a dream, aspiration, and worries unique to their own. But we’re connected by the same sense of hope. So naturally, I think that different songs will connect to different people...” [1].

Bang noted that past NDP music tended to be anthem-heavy and parade-suited, whereas recent shows, including NDP 2024, incorporated modern pop rock, Asian instruments, and alternative techno elements to appeal more widely [1, 2].

On June 11, 2026, Bang spoke at Infinite Studios about the multiple songs and inclusive approach for NDP 2026 [1, 2].

The return to National Stadium with expanded audience capacity, alongside the diverse musical line-up, sets the stage for a different kind of NDP experience this year [1, 2].
