Discussions at this year’s retreat will focus on strengthening collaboration in areas of mutual interest, updating progress on bilateral projects, and exchanging views on regional and global developments [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Singapore and Indonesia are expanding cooperation beyond traditional sectors such as trade, investment, and defence into the green economy, cross-border electricity trade, carbon capture and storage, artificial intelligence, and digital connectivity [2, 3, 4].
In 2025, Singapore was Indonesia’s top source of foreign direct investment, contributing US$17.4 billion [1, 2, 3, 4].
