The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) announced temporary restricted airspace over parts of Singapore on select days in June, July, and August 2026 to ensure safe conditions during National Day Parade (NDP) activities and rehearsals [1, 2].

The restricted zones include The Kallang area, formerly known as the Singapore Sports Hub, and on some dates extend to most parts of the island [1, 2]. The airspace restrictions cover ground level up to 3,000 feet (about 915 meters) above mean sea level [1, 2].

Restrictions will be enforced June 18, every Saturday from June 27 to August 1, and August 9—the day of NDP 2026 [1, 2]. A reserve date of August 15 may be activated if weather disrupts planned events [1, 2].

During restricted periods, all aerial activities including kite-flying, captive balloon hoisting, free flight aerial objects, and unmanned aircraft such as drones are banned without specific CAAS permits [1, 2]. Violations carry fines up to S$50,000 and/or jail terms up to two years for first offenses; repeat offenses may face fines of up to S$100,000 and/or five-year jail terms [1, 2].

Existing restrictions remain in place within 5km of aerodromes and other designated zones alongside these temporary limits [1, 2]. The public is advised to consult the OneMap.sg website or app for detailed maps and permit requirements, and to expect increased flying activity that is part of planned rehearsals [1, 2].

The first restricted period was on June 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Over subsequent Saturdays between June 27 and August 1, restrictions occur from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. over most parts of Singapore, followed by 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. over The Kallang [2]. On August 9, NDP day, the restrictions will run from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. over much of Singapore, then 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at The Kallang [2].

Attendance for NDP 2026 is expected to reach approximately 42,000 people [2].
