The Workers' Party held internal elections and a special cadres meeting on June 28, 2026, where Pritam Singh faced a vote of no confidence but secured 82 out of 106 votes to remain party chief. He was also returned unopposed as secretary-general, while Aljunied GRC MP Sylvia Lim was re-elected unopposed as party chair, a role she has held for over 20 years [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].
At the same meeting, the party elected 12 other members to the Central Executive Committee (CEC). Most were returning members except for senior counsel Harpreet Singh, who contested Punggol GRC in the May 2025 General Election and is considered the de facto team leader for that slate [1, 2, 4, 5].
Four members – Lee Li Lian, Nathaniel Koh, Kenneth Foo, and Ang Boon Yaw – stepped down from the CEC in the June 28 elections [4, 5].
On July 7, the CEC met for the first time and co-opted two Members of Parliament: Aljunied GRC MP Fadli Fawzi and Non-Constituency MP Andre Low. Their inclusion brought the total number of CEC members to 16, down from 19 in the previous term [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].
Among the 16 members, four are not MPs: Harpreet Singh, former WP chief Low Thia Khiang, former Aljunied GRC MP Faisal Manap, and Tan Kong Soon [4, 5]. Harpreet Singh, Andre Low, and Low Thia Khiang currently hold no specific appointments within the CEC [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].
On July 8, the party announced new appointments within the CEC. Faisal Manap continued as vice-chair, Kenneth Tiong was appointed treasurer taking over from He Ting Ru who became organising secretary. Jamus Lim was promoted to head of policy research, with Gerald Giam named deputy head [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].
The Workers' Party said, "With this team in place, The Workers’ Party looks ahead with confidence to serve our constituents with dedication, and to advance the interests of Singapore and all Singaporeans in the years to come" [1].
