Saudi Arabia will organise the next three editions of the Asian Champions League Elite finals after the AFC executive committee made provisional hosting rights permanent on July 30, 2026 [1, 2, 3]. Jeddah-based club Al-Ahli won the title on both occasions Saudi Arabia hosted the finals, defeating Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale in 2025 and then beating Machida Zelvia 1-0 after extra time in May 2026 [1, 2, 3]. Al-Hilal holds the record for the most Asian Champions League Elite titles with four wins from nine final appearances [3]. Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds and South Korea’s Pohang Steelers each have two titles and three final appearances [3].
The upcoming edition of the tournament will expand its league phase from 24 to 32 teams [1, 2, 3]. Qualifying rounds began on August 11, and the draw for the league phase will take place in Kuala Lumpur on August 18. Match play for the league phase is set to start on September 14 [1, 2, 3].
