Thomas Frank, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager, has decided not to return to football management this summer despite receiving job offers since leaving Spurs in February [1, 2]. Frank was sacked by Tottenham after eight months in charge as poor results left the club near the relegation zone [1, 2]. Prior to Tottenham, he had success building Brentford into a Premier League regular [1, 2].

At 52 years old, Frank said he is using the break to reflect on his career and gain new perspectives. "Leaving Tottenham has given me the chance to step back and reflect on my journey so far. Football management is a profession that demands complete commitment every single day, and periods like this are a rare opportunity to assess, learn and gain a fresh perspective," he said [1].

Frank confirmed he will spend the summer covering the World Cup for Danish television and the BBC [1, 2]. In addition, he plans to experience the Tour de France, which starts on July 4 [1, 2]. "Football remains a huge part of who I am, and I have chosen to use this time productively. Over the coming months, besides spending time with family and friends, I will continue studying, observing and learning from other leaders both within sport and beyond it," he added [1].

He stated, "There have been conversations and opportunities since leaving Spurs, but I have decided not to rush into the next role. For me, this summer is not the right time to go back into management" [1].

Frank’s next public engagement will be his punditry work during the World Cup and attending the Tour de France starting July 4 [1, 2].
