Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), owner of the Truth Social platform, launched a paid licensed data feed called Truth API on August 1, 2026. The service provides financial firms with real-time, 24/7 access to posts from the 10 most influential accounts on Truth Social, including President Donald Trump’s account, which had about 12.9 million followers in mid-2026 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].
The Truth API offers an archive dating back to 2022, when Truth Social was first launched by TMTG. The company positions the new feed as essential for banks, trading firms, hedge funds, and algorithmic trading companies that rely on instant market-moving information [1, 6]. Kevin McGurn, interim CEO of TMTG, said, “Markets already move on Truth Social posts” and described the API as delivering “a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform’s most market-moving Truths while advancing our strategy to monetize proprietary assets through a high-margin, recurring revenue stream” [1, 4].
Donald Trump is the highest-ranked and most followed user on Truth Social. His posts have proven to move global markets, with notable examples including announcements on tariffs that influenced Wall Street indexes and commodity prices [1, 3, 7, 8]. Investment expert Mark Spiegel of Stanphyl Capital Partners noted, “As far as I know, the only market-moving poster on Truth Social is Trump himself and his posts definitely move the market,” adding that companies could be at a disadvantage without quick access to such posts [1, 3].
TMTG is currently loss-making and seeks new revenue streams. Trump and his family stand to benefit through the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, which holds about 41% of outstanding TMTG shares [1, 3, 7, 8]. The company warned entities that have been scraping data without permission that these methods would soon be blocked, requiring purchase of the official feed [1, 6].
Pricing details have not been officially disclosed. However, some reports suggest fees could reach as high as $100,000 per month for the fastest access, with discounted multi-year contracts around $60,000 monthly [7, 9, 10]. There has been criticism over monetizing near-instant access to presidential posts, with ethics attorney Virginia Canter warning of a conflict of interest since Trump has a private stake while conveying information to the public [9, 11].
The Truth API aims to serve financial firms trading on instant market signals starting today, August 1, 2026, marking a new revenue effort from TMTG amid ongoing scrutiny of the platform’s influence on markets.
