Trump Media & Technology Group reported a net loss of about $238 million in the second quarter of 2026, more than 10 times the loss recorded in the same period last year. The company said its Q2 revenue reached approximately $1.7 million, an 89% increase year over year, despite the steep net loss [1, 2, 3].

The large loss was mainly caused by a decline of over $190 million in digital assets, pledged digital assets, and equity securities, a factor Kevin McGurn, interim CEO, attributed to price volatility. "Our operating expenses are largely impacted by the price volatility of digital assets," McGurn said [1, 2].

In early August 2026, Trump Media launched a new paid service called Truth API. It offers customers early access to posts from Donald Trump and other top users on Truth Social. Fees range from $60,000 to $100,000 per month. More than 10 customers, mostly high-frequency trading firms, have already signed up, McGurn noted. "We have signed more than 10 customer agreements to date, primarily high-frequency trading firms, paying $60,000 to $100,000 a month," he said [1, 4, 2, 3].

Critics and legal experts have raised ethical concerns about selling faster access to Trump’s social media posts. Kathleen Clark, a legal ethics professor, said, "[Trump is] selling expedited, privileged access to information about what he is doing as president. It’s yet more brazen corruption, an improper exploitation of government power to enrich himself" [1].

The company plans to refocus on its core social media business after expanding into crypto and online betting ventures over the past year. McGurn said, "We made the disciplined choice to pivot in order to invest more time and resources in our most important initiatives. We will say no to things or change course as warranted" [1].

Trump Media also intends to complete a merger with energy company TAE Technologies by the end of 2026 to enter the nuclear fusion sector [1].

Trump Media closed Q2 2026 with the reported loss and revenue on June 30. The Truth API was officially launched August 1. On August 10, the company announced the Truth API customer base had exceeded 10 firms and reiterated its renewed social media focus [1, 4, 3].
