To discourage video theft and reposting, X is suspending 208 bots per minute and reducing payouts to accounts that aggregate recycled content [1, 2]. It also reallocated impressions away from programmatic reuploads to original creators starting in May 2026 [2]. Earlier this year, X added features encouraging live video creation, including a video reaction tool and $1 million allocated to live streamer payouts in June 2026 [3]. Bier emphasized the company's goal to bring "net new content on the app" [3].
