Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson received total compensation of $38,649,984 for the 2026 fiscal year, an increase of about $8 million from the previous year largely driven by Battlefield 6's commercial success [1, 2, 3, 4]. Battlefield 6 was the highest-selling game of 2025, selling over 20 million copies worldwide by December and marking the biggest launch in the franchise's history with over 7 million copies sold in its first three days, outselling Call of Duty titles released the same year [1, 2, 3, 4].

EA’s fiscal year 2026 net revenue rose 9% to $7.531 billion, with Battlefield 6 contributing significantly to this performance [1, 4]. The game received strong critical reviews, maintained stable services and gameplay, met all its interim and launch milestones, and continued to receive content updates including a Top Gun collaboration in August 2026 featuring new fighter jets and themed skins [2, 3, 4].

Despite Battlefield 6’s success, EA laid off an unspecified number of developers from several Battlefield-related teams in March 2026, including Criterion, Dice, Ripple Effect, and Motive Studios [1, 2, 4]. An EA spokesperson said, "We’ve made select changes within our Battlefield organization to better align our teams around what matters most to our community. Battlefield remains one of our biggest priorities, and we’re continuing to invest in the franchise, guided by player feedback and insights from Battlefield Labs." Ariel Giovannetti, Motive’s Seasonal and Competitive Creative Lead, stated they are "working towards those goals that the community is setting for us" and remain "very happy" with the community response [1, 2].

Layoffs also affected other EA teams, including employees at Full Circle’s Skate development team in February 2026 and various corporate teams such as recruitment, customer support, trust and safety, and IT teams in June 2026 [4]. Other top EA executives received multimillion-dollar compensations in 2026: CFO Stuart Canfield earned $11.3 million; Laura Miele, $13.7 million; Mala Singh, $8.4 million; and Jacob Schatz, $8.5 million [1, 4].

Wilson’s compensation hike included higher "other compensation," rising from $678,858 in 2025 to about $2.4 million in 2026. This partly reflected personal security costs, including corporate aircraft use capped at 75 hours with an estimated cost over $1.2 million [3].

EA published its 10-K SEC filing reporting these financial results and executive pay details on July 28, 2026 [4]. The Top Gun Battlefield 6 update launched this month, continuing EA’s in-game content rollout [2].
