Russia’s Defence Ministry said on June 11 that Russian forces captured Rozkishne village in Donetsk region and Okhrimivka village in Kharkiv region, marking a continued slow advance in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas area [1, 2]. Rozkishne lies about 9 to 30 kilometers west of Kostiantynivka, a key town in the Donetsk region, while Okhrimivka is located approximately 3 kilometers from the Ukraine-Russia border in Kharkiv region [1, 2].
On June 12, Russia also claimed control of Pryiut village, situated around 25 kilometers southwest of Kramatorsk in Donetsk region [3]. These developments come amid ongoing fighting in eastern Ukraine, where Russian forces are pushing to capture more territory in the Donbas region [1].
Ukraine’s General Staff reported Russian attacks around Okhrimivka but has not confirmed that control of the village has been lost to Russian forces [1, 2]. Ukrainian authorities have not commented on the claims concerning control over Rozkishne, Okhrimivka, or Pryiut, and independent verification remains difficult due to the conditions of war [2, 3].
Serhiy Yaryi, commander of Ukraine’s 28th Separate Mechanised Brigade, noted that the Ukrainian force defending nearby towns was now “semi-encircled” because of Russia’s advances to the east [1].
The fighting continues as Russian troops slowly push to secure key villages west of frontline towns such as Kostiantynivka and Kramatorsk, important to control over Donetsk and the broader Donbas region [1, 3].
There has been no official Ukrainian confirmation of territorial changes to Rozkishne, Okhrimivka, or Pryiut at this point. Further developments are awaited as the conflict persists.
